The Andhra Pradesh Public Service Commission (APPSC) is the state agency responsible for conducting competitive examinations and interviews for recruitment to various civil services of Andhra Pradesh under the State Governmnt. The Commission also advises the Government on set up of service rules, recruitment and promotion of personnel, the compilation of seniority lists and the framing of regulations for disciplinary matters of the said personnel.
The APPSC is chaired by a Chairman and 4 other members who are appointed by the Andhra Pradesh Governor. The commission is responsible for conducting various examinations like Group-I Services, Group-II Services, Forest Officers in A.P. Forest Services, Panchayat Raj,hraj Executive Officers, etc.
The commission is also responsible for issuing notifications and conducting the recruitment process, selection, induction and promotion of personnel in the civil services. APPSC also has powers to revise the service rules and regulations for statutory services and to issue necessary orders for the implementation of such rules.
